At the last supper Christ took up the bread and wine and turned them into His body and blood. He told the disciples to follow him. The Catholic Catechism tells us that “The Eucharist is “the source and summit of Christian Life.” “The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, ae bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch” (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1324). This sacrament is taught in the second-grade religion classes. It is also taught in the religious education classes for children not attending St. Paul’s. The children are taught the importance of the Eucharist and how it affects their lives. If you are interested in this sacrament, contact Pat Garlitz, Director of Religious Education, 502-445-2130 or Parish Office502-935-1223.
